Our Doctors

Dr. Tony Wong

Spending much of his early years in Vancouver, Canada, Dr. Tony Wong graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cell and Developmental Biology. From there, he departed the Great White North, obtained his Doctorate in Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry in 1998.

Dr. Wong's primary interest in optometry centers upon preventative eye care.  He has extensive experience in comprehensive eye exams, managing eye health conditions, computer vision testing, and enjoys contact lens fittings, especially the complicated ones.  He stays current with the latest in eye care through continuing education courses and attending various trade shows.  He has been in private practice for most of his career and what he enjoys most is the rapport he has established with his long time patients.

In his spare time, Dr. Wong enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, traveling, skiing, golf, photography, fishing, and of course, baking elaborate birthday cakes for his girls.

Dr. Bessie Pian

Dr. Bessie Pian was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and raised in sunny Southern California.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and went on to receive her Doctorate in Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998.  As a part of her professional training, she completed externships at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL, and Omni Eye Specialists in Baltimore, MD. Upon graduation, Dr. Pian moved to the Eastside with her husband, Dr. Tony Wong, and has been practicing in Washington State since 1998.

Dr. Pian is always ready for the variety of what a typical work day will give her: comprehensive eye exams, pediatric eye exams, treating & managing various eye diseases, refractive and cataract surgery co-management, and contact lens fittings.  Dr. Pian believes that in providing the highest quality eyecare, it is necessary to treat patients with respect, compassion, and with open communication.

Dr. Pian also has a passion for eyecare mission clinics.  Each year, she volunteers her time to help the indigent populations at the Guerrero Clinic near Chihuahua, Mexico.  The clinic provides life-changing cataract surgeries and eyeglasses to those who would otherwise not have the means.

Bessie currently lives in Bellevue with her husband and two daughters.  During her free time, she enjoys snowboarding, skiing, cooking, traveling, playing the flute, vegetable gardening, and hiking with her Corgi.
